Staff Software Engineer – React Native Mobile

Candescent is a forward‑thinking technology company transforming how financial institutions deliver Intelligent Banking experiences. We are searching for a Principal (Staff) Software Engineer specializing in React Native mobile development to join our Engineering team. The role partners closely with Enterprise Architects, Product Management, UX/UI Design, and engineering leads to shape strategic architecture decisions and deliver secure, scalable, intuitive mobile banking experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop highly configurable, extensible, and pluggable React Native applications.
• Collaborate with product and UX teams to create clean, accessible, intuitive mobile experiences.
• Integrate RESTful APIs with server‑side engineering teams and drive architectural decisions with Enterprise Architects.
• Provide development guidance, reusable code examples, technical documentation, and unit‑test strategies.
• Lead design and code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and support production deployments.
• Optimize performance through testing, analysis, and actionable recommendations.
• Maintain native iOS and Android integrations when platform‑specific components are required.
• Use AI‑assisted tools (Claude, Cursor) to improve productivity while upholding quality and security standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7–10 years of software engineering experience with extensive React Native expertise and a track record of delivering production mobile applications.
• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and native mobile development (Swift/Objective‑C for iOS, Kotlin/Java for Android).
• Experience with mobile architecture, authentication flows, secure development, and automated testing (Playwright or comparable).
• Ability to work independently, break down complex problems, and communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
