Dental Assistant – Oral Health Clinic

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Dental Assistant to join its Oral Health Clinic in Little Rock. This full‑time, day‑shift position supports dental providers in delivering high‑quality patient care within a collaborative academic health‑care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures.
• Assist dentists during examinations, cleanings, and minor surgeries.
• Maintain accurate patient records and update charts in compliance with HIPAA.
• Perform sterilization, infection‑control, and equipment maintenance tasks.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post‑procedure care.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; dental assisting certification preferred.
• Valid dental radiography certification (if applicable).
• Ability to work legally in the United States on the first day of employment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
