Data Architect – Public Health Data Modernization

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide data solutions that support public-health modernization initiatives for the Louisiana Office of Technology Services. The role focuses on building scalable data ecosystems, integrating diverse health data sources, and modernizing legacy platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain enterprise data architecture frameworks, standards, and governance policies.
• Design data models and integration strategies that align with public-health data requirements.
• Develop, optimize, and manage ETL pipelines and data-flow processes.
• Oversee data storage solutions, access controls, and database performance tuning.
• Evaluate, pilot, and deploy new data technologies within existing IT infrastructure.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across agencies to ensure secure, scalable, and efficient data solutions.
• Support the migration and modernization of legacy data environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, MIS, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience designing and managing enterprise data ecosystems.
• Demonstrated experience working with public-health agencies such as CDC, NIH, or state health departments.
• Proven track record modernizing legacy data infrastructures.
