Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

MetTel is seeking a hands‑on Cybersecurity Engineer to join its Corporate IT team in New York City. You will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing security controls across a hybrid infrastructure, acting as a subject‑matter expert for the company’s security technology stack.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct vulnerability assessments on containerized and traditional infrastructure.
• Perform ethical hacking and penetration testing using tools such as Nmap, Wireshark, Metasploit, Hydra, and Burp Suite.
• Lead remediation efforts and manage the vulnerability lifecycle.
• Analyze security alerts, conduct root‑cause analysis, and support incident response.
• Participate in threat‑hunting activities and continuous security monitoring.
• Administer and optimize enterprise security tools including SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, and container security platforms.
• Manage security aspects of VMware, storage systems, and network segmentation.
• Configure and maintain authentication systems (SAML, RADIUS) and identity management platforms such as OKTA.
• Administer CyberArk Privileged Access Management components (Vault, CPM, PSM, PVWA).

Required profile

• CEH certification or equivalent ethical‑hacking credentials.
• Strong experience with vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and remediation.
• Hands‑on system administration experience in hybrid (on‑premises and cloud) environments.
• Ability to analyze security alerts, perform root‑cause analysis, and contribute to threat‑hunting.
