Construction Superintendent – Maintenance & Shutdown

About the role

Turner Industries is seeking a Superintendent to lead maintenance and construction activities at its St. Gabriel, LA site. The role involves scheduling, coordinating, and supervising workers while providing on‑site administrative and technical management during regular operations and a planned shutdown window (July 20 – August 13).

Key responsibilities

• Supervise total maintenance and construction effort to meet design, budget, and schedule requirements.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee on‑site functions such as scheduling, engineering, and material control.
• Interpret construction drawings and provide technical assistance as needed.
• Develop, update, and enforce project procedures, safety programs, and company standards.
• Document violations, notify management, and implement corrective actions.
• Interface with client representatives and report to the Site or Project Manager.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Eight to ten years of technical training and/or related experience in construction.
• Thorough knowledge of all construction aspects and basic knowledge of all crafts.
• Advanced knowledge of key on‑site crafts, especially mechanical skills.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities; preferred Turner Leadership Training.
• Ability to pass drug/alcohol screening, physical evaluation, and comply with safety policies.
