About the role
The Compliance Officer I monitors and facilitates compliance with federal, state, and Texas A&M University System regulations. The role supports ethical conduct across AgriLife Research by investigating allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, and other policy violations.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and investigate cases involving fraud, waste, abuse, or policy violations; conduct interviews and draft investigative reports.
- Maintain the AgriLife Rules library, manage workflow for reviewing, revising, and approving rules and procedures.
- Assist the Public Information Officer with public records requests and serve as backup.
- Participate in on‑site reviews of off‑campus research and extension centers, evaluating records retention, training, and technology control plans.
- Act as liaison for agency programs for minors, reviewing risk assessments for completeness and accuracy.
- Support the annual Enterprise Risk Management process and broader compliance program.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum four years of related compliance or investigative experience.
- Current CFE or CCEP certification preferred.
- Knowledge of Texas A&M University System structure and state/federal public information laws.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Maestro, FAMIS, CircuiTree, AggieBuy, and Concur systems.
- Advanced word processing, spreadsheet, and database application skills.
