Community Assistant at The Varsity Student Living

About the role

This role works with and supports the team of property management professionals in achieving occupancy and retention goals by performing administrative tasks related to leasing, marketing, and customer service at the community. The Community Assistant assists with leasing activities, resident relations, and on‑site marketing to ensure resident satisfaction and property performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform administrative tasks for the leasing office such as copying documents, filing resident files, preparing notices, handling resident calls, and organizing rent payments.
• Assist with sales and leasing activities by conducting virtual tours, responding to online inquiries, greeting and qualifying prospects, conducting property tours, and showing apartments.
• Generate lease paperwork, organize resident lease files, and support the lease preparation process.
• Coordinate move‑in and move‑out processes, including mandatory work dates for turn‑overs.
• Answer incoming calls, set appointments for prospect tours, and conduct on‑campus marketing outreach.
• Help organize resident functions, birthday cards, unit visits, and other programs to achieve resident satisfaction goals.
• Distribute notices, flyers, newsletters, resident surveys, and late notices as directed.
• Serve as an after‑hours liaison, responding to emergencies and being on‑call at least one shift per week.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods, lift up to 25 lb independently (50 lb with assistance), and work in all weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and on‑call shifts as needed.

What we offer

• Hourly pay ranging from $15.30 to $16.30.
