Porter – Student Living Community

About the role

The Porter supports the daily appearance and safety of The Varsity student‑living community in College Park, Maryland. Working closely with the Service Supervisor and Community Manager, the Porter ensures common areas, amenities, and grounds remain clean, functional, and welcoming for residents.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and clean common areas, removing litter, debris, pet waste, and ensuring amenities are tidy throughout the day.
• Clear trash from vacant apartments before the make‑ready process and maintain storage areas.
• Complete minor service requests and assist the make‑ready specialist during unit turnovers.
• Change locks according to property policy and verify pool gate operation meets safety codes.
• Distribute resident notices and communications as needed.
• Report hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisors promptly.
• Provide courteous customer service, answering resident questions and handling complaints sensitively.
• Follow Greystar’s safety policies, attend safety meetings, complete OSHA training, and report incidents accurately.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s license required to operate a golf cart on the property.
• Ability to work independently, follow procedures, and maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
• Strong observational skills to identify hazards and maintenance needs.
