Category Sourcing Manager (Global Procurement)

About the role

Lead global category strategy for a significant portion of enterprise spend, driving value, innovation and risk mitigation across the portfolio. Partner with cross‑functional teams to deliver integrated sourcing solutions and support business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute category strategies aligned with business priorities, ensuring performance in quality, service, cost and supply continuity.
• Collaborate with Divisional Procurement, Supplier Quality, Operations, Materials Management, Engineering, Legal and Compliance to develop sourcing solutions.
• Lead initiatives such as cost reduction, supply base optimization, quality improvement, risk management and contract strategy development.
• Manage supplier negotiations, relationship management and analytics including total cost modeling and make‑versus‑buy analyses.
• Develop commodity strategies supporting divisional and enterprise objectives and maintain senior‑level commercial relationships with key suppliers.
• Oversee procurement budgets, conduct financial analysis and forecasting to optimize spend.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing or Procurement, preferably in medical devices or highly regulated industries.
• Proven experience leading enterprise‑level category strategies in a global or matrixed environment.
• Strong knowledge of capital equipment and manufacturing‑related categories (CAPEX).
• Experience working with complex global supply bases and senior executive stakeholders.
