RN Patient Educator

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Patient Educator to join its Instructional Development team. In this position you will design, implement, and evaluate patient education programs that support high‑quality clinical care and improve health outcomes for Arkansas residents.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update evidence‑based patient education materials and curricula.
• Deliver education sessions to patients and families across diverse clinical settings.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health staff to align educational content with care pathways.
• Assess patient learning needs and measure the effectiveness of education interventions.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.

Required profile

• Current, unrestricted RN license in Arkansas.
• Experience in patient education or clinical teaching.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of interdisciplinary teams.
