Account Manager – Refinery Catalysts

About the role

Join BASF’s Performance Chemicals team as an Account Manager focused on refinery catalysts. You will act as the primary commercial and technical liaison for refinery customers, driving growth and delivering value through innovative catalyst solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain multi‑level relationships with refinery operations, technical, procurement, and leadership teams.
• Achieve annual sales, margin, and market‑share targets through contract negotiations, pricing strategy, and accurate forecasting.
• Provide technical support using knowledge of FCC, hydroprocessing, and catalyst technologies, delivering performance reviews and economic value assessments.
• Oversee catalyst program implementation, including trials, new product introductions, performance tracking, and troubleshooting.
• Lead regular business reviews to discuss KPIs, identify risks, and develop joint improvement plans.
• Collaborate with internal BASF functions such as Technical Service, Supply Chain, and Marketing to deliver integrated solutions.
• Monitor market trends and competitive activity to inform pricing and growth strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical Engineering.
• Proven experience in sales or account management within the chemicals or refining sector.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of meeting sales targets.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
