Youth Program Specialist – VRISE

About the role

The International Rescue Committee seeks a Youth Program Specialist to support its VRISE (Virtual Refugee Integration & Education) program in Seattle. You will deliver virtual spring and summer classes for newcomer elementary‑aged youth, while providing essential administrative and outreach support.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Youth Program Coordinator in planning, preparing, and facilitating after‑school VRISE and VSRISE activities.
• Lead small‑group and large‑group lessons in English literacy, grammar, art, and social‑emotional learning.
• Develop and implement assessment tools to capture program effectiveness and collect data.
• Conduct outreach to families, explain program benefits, and guide them through enrollment and eligibility documentation.
• Maintain regular communication with teachers and parents via newsletters and updates.
• Provide academic support to newcomer students during the school day at partner schools.

Required profile

• Passionate about supporting refugee and immigrant youth.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage virtual classroom logistics.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with families, teachers, and program staff.
• Experience in educational program delivery or youth outreach.
