Part-time Dog Training Instructor

About the role
The Humane Society of Sonoma County is seeking a part‑time Dog Training Instructor to lead positive‑reinforcement training classes for companion dogs. You will work at our Santa Rosa and Healdsburg shelters, delivering beginner to advanced group sessions and specialty workshops.
Key responsibilities
- Teach group companion‑dog training classes from introductory to advanced levels at both shelter locations.
- Develop and deliver specialty classes and public workshops focused on dog‑training skill development.
- Achieve departmental goals and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the organization’s mission, values, and philosophy through high‑quality instruction.
Required profile
- Proven experience in positive‑reinforcement dog training.
- Excellent customer‑service skills and ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Passion for animals and people, with a collaborative team mindset.
- Availability to work part‑time, including evenings as needed.
