Workers Compensation Liaison

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Workers Compensation Liaison in Phoenix, AZ, a hybrid role focused on analyzing complex general liability claims to determine benefits due, working with high-exposure liability claims involving litigation and rehabilitation, and ensuring claims are adjudicated within service expectations and client requirements. The role also includes identifying subrogation, negotiating settlements and backing up the team lead when out of the office.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process complex or technically difficult general liability claims by investigating and gathering information to determine exposure, then manage them through action plans to a timely resolution.
• Manage the litigation process and coordinate vendor referrals for additional investigation and/or litigation management.
• Lead team meetings, assign accountability for follow-up items and gather compliance and claims-processing information for team reviews.
• Assist in interviews of adjusters and clerical staff and give feedback to the hiring manager.
• Support the team lead with monthly review of adjuster workloads, noting trends and suggesting adjustments; the role may include up to three direct reports.
• Supervisory duties: administer company personnel policies, interview, hire and develop colleagues, and guide their performance.

Required profile

• 5 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Nationwide jurisdiction knowledge; workers compensation adjuster license preferred but not required.
• Ability to think clearly, solve problems, handle stress and multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
