Workers Compensation Claims Examiner (CA or NV)

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Claims Examiner for workers compensation, working in California or Nevada and licensed in that state. The role analyzes workers compensation claims on behalf of clients to determine benefits due, while keeping adjudication within service expectations, industry best practice and client requirements. The position is listed as remote.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process claims through action plans, investigating and gathering information to determine the exposure on the claim.
• Negotiate settlements of claims within designated authority.
• Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to directions requests in a professional and timely manner.

Required profile

• Licensed in California or Nevada; high school diploma or GED required, bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Professional certification for the line of business preferred.
• Ability to think clearly, judge well, troubleshoot and analyze, handle stress and multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
