Workers Compensation Claims Examiner (Texas Experience Required)

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Claims Examiner for Workers Compensation I, working remotely, to analyze workers compensation claims on behalf of its clients and determine the benefits due. The role suits candidates with Texas experience and a background in adjudicating complex claims.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process claims through well-developed action plans to a timely resolution, investigating and gathering information to determine the exposure on the claim.
• Negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority.
• Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to requests for direction in a professional and timely manner.

Required profile

• 5 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED; bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Professional certification applicable to the line of business preferred.
• Texas license required.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, exercise good judgement and discretion, and use a computer keyboard.
