Workers Compensation Claims Examiner (NY Jurisdiction & Subrogation)

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Workers Compensation Claims Examiner to analyze lost-time workers' compensation claims on behalf of its clients and determine the benefits due, while keeping adjudication within service expectations and client requirements. The role requires subrogation experience and NY licensing. It is hybrid if you live within commuting distance of the Syracuse, NY office, and remote if you live outside that area.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process claims through well-developed action plans to a timely resolution, investigating and gathering information to determine the exposure on the claim.
• Negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority.
• Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to requests for direction in a professional and timely manner.

Required profile

• 5 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED; bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Professional certification applicable to the line of business preferred.
• Subrogation experience required.
• NY jurisdiction knowledge and NY licensing required.
