Remote Workers Compensation Claims Examiner I

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a remote Workers Compensation Claims Examiner to analyze workers compensation claims on behalf of its clients and determine the benefits due. The role involves adjudicating claims within service expectations, industry best practices and specific client service requirements, and delivering customer-facing solutions to clients across many industries.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process claims through well-developed action plans to an appropriate and timely resolution.
• Investigate and gather information to determine the exposure on each claim.
• Negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority.
• Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to requests for direction in a professional and timely manner.

Required profile

• 5 years of claims management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Professional certification applicable to the line of business preferred.
• Licensing or jurisdiction knowledge: anywhere in the United States.
• Physical: computer keyboarding; auditory/visual: hearing, vision and talking; mental: clear and conceptual thinking, good judgement and discretion, and ability to meet deadlines.
