Workers Compensation Claims Examiner (Southeast States, FL License)

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Claims Examiner for Workers Compensation covering the Southeast states, with Florida licensing required. The role applies workers' compensation and supervisory knowledge to adjudicate complex claims, supports team leads when out of the office and may include up to three direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process complex or technically difficult general liability claims, investigating and gathering information to determine exposure and benefits due.
• Manage claims through well-developed action plans to an appropriate and timely resolution.
• Manage the litigation process and coordinate vendor referrals for additional investigation and/or litigation management.
• Lead team meetings, assign accountability for follow-up items and gather compliance and claims-processing information for team reviews.
• Assist in interviews of adjusters and clerical staff and give feedback to the hiring manager.
• Support the team lead with monthly review of adjuster workloads, note trends and suggest adjustments; may include up to three direct reports.

Required profile

• 5 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Florida licensing required; experience in the Southeast jurisdiction and in Florida is necessary.
• Professional certification applicable to the line of business preferred.
