Claims Examiner - Liability (General and Product Liability)

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a remote Claims Examiner for general and product liability claims covering all 50 states, with home-state and New York licensing required. The role analyzes complex liability claims to determine benefits due, works with high-exposure claims involving litigation and rehabilitation, keeps adjudication within service expectations and client requirements, identifies subrogation and negotiates settlements.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process claims through action plans, investigating and gathering information to determine exposure
• Negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority
• Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to directions promptly

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional certification for the line of business preferred
• 5 years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Licensing in all 50 states, NY and IA, or willingness to obtain it within six months of employment
• Ability to handle work-related stress, multiple priorities and deadlines, with clear thinking, judgment and discretion
