Claims Team Lead, Auto

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Claims Team Lead, Auto, working remotely from Florida. The role supervises multiple teams of examiners and technical staff handling liability claims for clients, monitors their workloads, provides training and technical direction on claims adjudication, and keeps diaries on claims, especially complex or high-exposure ones.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise multiple teams of examiners and technical operations colleagues (at least seven), delegating some duties within the unit
• Identify trends, problems and issues, advise management and coordinate improvement projects
• Provide technical direction to examiner reports and review and analyze management reports
• Perform quality reviews of claims against audit, service contract and quality standards
• Act as second-level appeal for client and claimant issues and implement final dispositions
• Review reserve amounts on high-cost claims and claims beyond an examiner's authority
• Monitor third-party claims and periodically review litigated, vocational rehabilitation, questionable and sensitive claims
• Maintain contact with the client, make recommendations and provide written claim summaries
• Ensure direct reports are properly licensed and that claims files are coded correctly and documented
• Support the organization's quality programs and perform other assigned duties

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
• Licenses as required and professional certifications preferred
• Six years of claims experience or equivalent education and experience, including two years as a claims supervisor

Required skills

• Thorough knowledge of claims management processes across multiple product lines
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
• PC literacy, including Microsoft Office
• Leadership, management, analytical and interpretive skills
• Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines
