Workers Compensation Claims Examiner (NY Jurisdiction, Remote)

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Workers Compensation Claims Examiner to analyze lost-time claims on behalf of its clients and determine the benefits due, while keeping claims adjudication within service expectations, industry best practices and client requirements. The role is remote and requires NY licensing.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process claims through well-developed action plans to a timely resolution, investigating and gathering information to determine the exposure on the claim.
• Negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority.
• Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to requests for direction in a professional and timely manner.

Required profile

• 4+ years of claims management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Professional certification applicable to the line of business preferred.
• NY licensing required.
• Ability to think clearly, judge well, troubleshoot and solve problems, handle stress and multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
