Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster (NY Jurisdiction)

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster to analyze lost-time workers' compensation claims on behalf of its clients and determine the benefits due. The role works remotely, with a hybrid option available for candidates within commuting distance of the Syracuse, NY office. The position is dedicated to a single client.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process claims through well-developed action plans to an appropriate and timely resolution.
• Investigate and gather information to determine the exposure on each claim.
• Negotiate settlements of claims within designated authority.
• Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to requests for direction in a professional and timely manner.

Required profile

• 2 years of claims management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred.
• Professional certification applicable to the line of business preferred.
• NY licensing preferred, not required.
• Ability to handle work-related stress, multiple priorities and deadlines, with clear thinking, judgment and discretion.
