Workers Compensation Claims Examiner I (Telecommuter)

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Claims Examiner for Workers Compensation I to work remotely, analyzing workers compensation claims on behalf of clients to determine benefits due. The role suits experienced examiners who want to apply their knowledge to adjudicate complex claims while delivering customer-facing solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process claims through well-developed action plans to an appropriate and timely resolution, investigating and gathering information to determine the exposure on the claim.
• Negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority.
• Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
• Report claims to the excess carrier and respond to requests for direction in a professional and timely manner.

Required profile

• 5 years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Professional certification applicable to the line of business preferred.
• Licensing and jurisdiction knowledge of NH, VT, MA, CT, RI, DC, DE, WV, VA and AK.
