Wireless Research Engineer

About the role

As a Wireless Research Engineer in Bosch's Wireless Sensor and Embedded Systems group, you will lead applied research on next‑generation communication and sensing technologies. You will create intelligent wireless solutions that combine advanced signal processing with AI/ML to impact mobility, consumer, industrial, and energy applications.

Key responsibilities

• Drive applied research in next‑generation communication and sensing systems.
• Design and develop innovative wireless solutions with a focus on signal processing and AI/ML.
• Implement software prototypes to demonstrate proof‑of‑concept ideas.
• Perform performance analysis, feasibility studies, and simulations.
• Monitor state‑of‑the‑art developments in academia, industry, and standards (e.g., ZigBee, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, UWB).
• Present findings to management and cross‑functional teams.
• Publish research results as patents and conference/journal papers.

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong background in wireless communication, signal processing, and machine learning.
• Experience with wireless sensing techniques such as RSSI, Time‑of‑Flight, CSI, and CIR.
• Familiarity with wireless standards (IEEE 802.11x, IEEE 802.15.4, BLE).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in an international, multidisciplinary environment.

Required skills

• Proficient programming in C and Python.
• Experience using machine‑learning libraries and tools.
• Embedded programming experience (a plus).
• Knowledge of wireless communication protocols and standards.
• Signal‑processing and AI/ML algorithm development.
