Wellness Program Managing Provider (Plastic Surgery)

About the role

The Schwartz Aesthetic Institute, a medical and aesthetic practice in Thousand Oaks, California founded by Dr. Michael R. Schwartz, is expanding its wellness division focused on medical weight loss, peptide protocols and hormone optimization. It is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to lead the Wellness Program, reporting directly to Dr. Schwartz. The position is full-time and on-site.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the wellness program, including GLP-1 weight loss, peptide therapy, supplements and hormone replacement therapy for men and women.
• Conduct patient consultations, assessments and follow-ups, and develop evidence-based clinical protocols and treatment plans.
• Order and interpret labs, diagnostics and hormone panels to guide therapy.
• Educate patients on medication use, lifestyle changes, nutrition and long-term wellness.
• Collaborate with Dr. Schwartz, Dr. Stark and the nursing team to integrate wellness services with aesthetic offerings.
• Monitor outcomes, track program metrics and help grow the program through patient education and community outreach.
• Ensure compliance with California regulations, DEA requirements and standard-of-care guidelines.

Required profile

• Active, unrestricted California license as an NP (FNP, ANP or WHNP preferred) or PA.
• At least 2 years of clinical experience; experience in weight management, functional medicine, endocrinology or aesthetics preferred.
• Knowledge of or experience prescribing GLP-1s (semaglutide, tirzepatide) and managing weight-loss patients.
• Familiarity with peptide therapies and hormone optimization protocols (BHRT, testosterone, thyroid).
• Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain it).
• BLS/ACLS certification required.

Preferred qualifications

• Certification in integrative, anti-aging or functional medicine (e.g., A4M, IFM, BHRT).
• Experience in a medical spa, aesthetics practice or concierge medicine setting.
• Experience with EMR systems and telehealth platforms.
