Wellness Nurse (Part-Time)

About the role

The Experience Senior Living Team is looking for a part-time Wellness Nurse to join its team in Palm Coast. The nurse acts as charge nurse when the Executive Director and Director of Health & Wellness are absent and supports the day-to-day care of residents.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as charge nurse in the absence of the Executive Director and Director of Health & Wellness
• Contribute to medication management, including orders, administration, storage, documentation and compliance with state regulations, guidelines and company policy
• Keep resident rooms and common areas clean and safe
• Maintain care partners and medication assistants' knowledge of each resident's condition and train them to deliver care professionally and sensitively
• Assist residents with self-medication and administer medications
• Document daily nursing recommendations and implement plans of care and change-of-condition plans recommended by the Resident Wellness Director
• Complete accurate, timely charting in the electronic health record, assessments, accident and incident reports, and maintain positive relationships with residents, families and responsible parties
• Manage emergency situations such as disasters and fires, and ensure adequately trained care partners are available for each shift

Required profile

• Licensed Vocational Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse license (LVN/LPN preferred)
• Two years of experience in a senior living environment preferred
• Basic First Aid and CPR certification
• Ability to work varied schedules including weekends, evenings and holidays
• Background screening in accordance with Florida law and company policy is required; some positions may require fingerprinting and Level 1 or Level 2 screening

• Ability to read and interpret complex information and adapt quickly to changing demands
