Weekend CNA/HCA Caregiver – NOC Shifts

About the role

Journey Nursing Services is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and Home Care Aides (HCA) to provide weekend night‑on‑call (NOC) care in homes, facilities, or adult family homes. The position is per‑diem and focuses on delivering person‑centered, holistic care to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hands‑on patient care, including ADLs such as grooming, bathing, feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance.
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition, take vital signs, record weights, and apply prescribed creams or ointments.
• Promote skin integrity by repositioning immobile residents and providing incontinence care.
• Follow safety and infection‑control procedures, including proper hand washing and use of disposable gloves.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• CNA or HCA license valid in Washington State (training can be completed on‑site).
• Good standing with the Washington DSHS Background Check System.
• Reliable transportation and, if providing client transport, a valid driver’s license and insurance.

Required skills

• Ability to lift 50 lb using proper body mechanics.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English for documentation and communication.
• Basic competency in taking vital signs and following delegated nursing tasks.
