Warehouse Specialist - Transportation, 2nd Shift (WMS)

About the role

Amentum is hiring a Warehouse Specialist for transportation work on the 2nd shift, working with a Warehouse Management System (WMS). The role covers a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan, excluding workers whose main duties are shipping/receiving, order filling or forklift operation.

Key responsibilities

• Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials, examine them and report deterioration and damage
• Remove material from storage and prepare it for shipment
• Verify materials against receiving documents, note and report discrepancies and obvious damage, and route materials to prescribed storage locations
• Store, stack or palletize material according to prescribed storage methods
• May operate hand or power trucks and may operate forklifts
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED, and six to twelve months of job-related experience or training
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a government general-purpose vehicle
• Ability to work safely, handle difficult situations courteously, and possibly obtain and maintain a security clearance
• Physical demands: lifting and pushing up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs and ramps, standing and walking for long periods, exposure to noise, dust and possible travel on short notice

Required skills

• Typing on a standard keyboard for e-mail and software
• Operating power vehicles, machinery, hand tools and ground support equipment
• Passing a respirator physical and fit test
