VP Finance / Controller – Family Office & Fund

About the role

We are seeking a Vice President of Finance and Controller to join a fast‑growing finance team within a premier alternative investment management firm. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee accounting, reporting, tax compliance, and cash management for multiple fund entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review quarterly and annual workpapers and financial statement packages.
• Develop cash forecasts, manage expense budgets, and oversee fund cash balances.
• Lead month‑end close, including accruals, reclassifications, and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Review shadow books, investor allocations, and fund‑administrator reporting.
• Participate in budget and forecast development and prepare quarterly deliverables for the CFO.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage journal entries related to capital calls, distributions, receivables, and payables.
• Handle special assignments as required.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in corporate finance, financial planning & analysis, or related roles.
• College degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred but not required.
• Prior experience in hedge funds, master‑feeder structures, technology or multi‑strategy funds is a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting processes and the financial impact of decisions.
• Excellent communication, judgment, and a customer‑service orientation.
