Volunteer Coordinator

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to lead its volunteer program. This full‑time position supports patient care and community engagement by managing all aspects of volunteer recruitment, training, and scheduling across the campus.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, and onboard new volunteers.
• Develop and maintain volunteer schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for clinical and non‑clinical areas.
• Provide orientation and ongoing training to meet UAMS policies and compliance standards.
• Maintain accurate volunteer records and databases.
• Coordinate with department heads to align volunteer activities with institutional needs.
• Monitor volunteer performance and conduct regular evaluations.
• Handle volunteer communications, recognition events, and feedback mechanisms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in health services, nonprofit management, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in volunteer coordination or program administration.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse populations.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
