Program Coordinator – IACUC

About the role

The Program Coordinator (IACUC) supports the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee to ensure all animal research activities comply with institutional, state, and federal regulations. This position reports to the Director of Research Programs and contributes to the university’s research mission.

Key responsibilities

• Manage administrative functions of the IACUC, including scheduling meetings, inspections, and training sessions.
• Prepare and distribute agendas and meeting materials, and follow up on action items.
• Maintain IACUC policies, monitor review cycles, and update the committee’s webpage.
• Assist faculty and researchers with Muse, the electronic protocol management system, and verify training records via Workday and CITI.
• Review protocol submissions for completeness and compliance before meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma/GED with at least four years of administrative or program coordination experience.
• Strong problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, negotiation, and teamwork abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and ability to meet recurring deadlines.
