Vocational Nurse (LVN) – Beto Unit

About the role

The Vocational Nurse (LVN) on the Beto Unit provides direct nursing care to incarcerated patients within Texas correctional facilities. Working under the guidance of medical staff, the LVN ensures safe delivery of care, medication administration, and adherence to health‑care protocols in a secure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to assigned patients, including assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Perform admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following physician orders.
• Document nursing care accurately in patient records.
• Notify medical staff of changes in patient status and respond to care priorities.
• Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality, and infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• Graduate of a Licensed Vocational Nurse program with a current Texas LVN license.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS‑HP) certification.
• No prior experience required; recent graduates with temporary permits are considered.
• Ability to obtain required security clearance and pass pre‑employment drug testing.
