Virology (HIV) Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) – New York

About the role

The Regional Medical Scientific Director (MSL) will lead scientific engagement for virology/HIV across New York boroughs and Upstate New York, supporting our research‑intensive biopharma mission. The role is remote with up to 50% travel and requires residence within the New York boroughs.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, establish, and manage collaborative relationships with national, regional, and clinical practice scientific leaders and investigators.
• Conduct peer‑level scientific discussions, provide non‑product scientific insights, and inform R&D and Human Health strategies.
• Represent R&D at scientific meetings, develop territory plans aligned with global virology/HIV strategy, and support investigator‑initiated research programs.
• Identify potential investigators for phase II‑IV clinical programs and provide scientific support for sponsored trials.
• Communicate stakeholder feedback on new data, clinical trends, and the evolving HIV landscape to internal teams.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (MD, PhD, DNP, DO, PharmD, or equivalent) relevant to virology/HIV.
• Minimum 3 years experience in biotech/pharma or clinical environment and 3 years of virology/HIV research or clinical work.
• Demonstrated scientific excellence in HIV, with publications or clinical trial experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, networking, and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time and reside in the coverage region.
