Vice President, Public Relations (Corporate Communications)

About the role

Mizuho Americas is seeking a Vice President to lead its Public Relations efforts within the Corporate Communications & Marketing division. The role will support multi‑channel PR campaigns that raise the visibility of the Mizuho brand and showcase the firm’s capabilities across its investment banking and capital markets businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute multi‑channel public relations strategies to shape brand perception and promote business lines.
• Serve as press officer, handling daily media inquiries, pitching stories, arranging interviews, and managing broadcast appearances.
• Coordinate with business marketing teams and external PR agencies to align messaging and ensure consistent brand identity.
• Build and maintain relationships with financial and business media to generate positive coverage.
• Manage PR processes including media monitoring, press release drafting and distribution, media list maintenance, briefing material preparation, message development, competitive audits, and campaign tracking.
• Stay current on industry trends and media themes affecting the financial services sector.

Required profile

• Experience working in‑house at a financial services organization or at a PR agency serving financial services clients.
• Strong media‑relations skill set with a proven ability to secure coverage in target business and financial outlets.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with marketing, PR, and business leadership teams.
