Vice President of Programs (Public Safety Communications / RF & LMR Systems)

About the role

Gatesource HR is recruiting a Vice President of Programs who reports to the Chief Operating Officer. The role leads and manages the full lifecycle of project execution, ensuring timely, on-budget and quality delivery of all initiatives through strategic planning, process optimization, budgeting and team leadership. It covers public safety communications, project leadership and RF and LMR systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop project teams and partner with department leaders to allocate resources and assign project personnel.
• Set project objectives, timelines and expectations, and keep stakeholders aligned.
• Oversee preparation of budgets and financial reports for each program, and review contractual terms and conditions.
• Manage the project development process, from scope definition and planning to documentation and execution.
• Ensure effective communication across stakeholders and teams, and conduct performance reviews.
• Evaluate staffing needs and oversee recruitment for project-specific personnel.
• Build strategic relationships, facilitate post-project reviews and implement lessons learned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management or a related field; PMP or equivalent certification required.
• Over 10 years of hands-on experience managing complex projects, especially in IT or construction-related environments.
• At least 7 years of leadership experience managing teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.

Required skills

• Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting and cash flow oversight.
• Advanced knowledge of project planning tools, including Gantt charts.
• Preferred: background in public safety communications, including LMR, RF systems, BDA, DAS and P25.
