QA Engineer II - Storage Performance Automation

About the role

DDN is hiring a Performance QE Engineer (QA Engineer II) to build and extend its automated benchmarking infrastructure for the RED (Infinia) distributed storage platform. The work covers S3, block/CSI and POSIX/HPC I/O paths, from test orchestration through results collection and dashboards.

Key responsibilities

• Write and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles for cluster setup, health checks and installation/configuration
• Contribute to Celery-based task orchestration for running I/O workloads in parallel
• Execute and troubleshoot storage benchmarks such as FIO, IOR, mdtest, IO500 and WARP
• Write Python scripts for parsing results, generating manifests and normalizing metrics
• Maintain the PostgreSQL results schema and Grafana dashboards
• Debug test failures and flaky pipeline runs across protocols
• Contribute new benchmark profiles (YAML workload definitions) under review
• Work with developers to validate fixes and measure feature performance impact

Required profile

• 2+ years of Python, comfortable with scripting and basic async/task-queue concepts (Celery a plus)
• Working knowledge of Ansible (playbooks and roles)
• Basic SQL (PostgreSQL) and Linux fundamentals (filesystems, networking, processes)
• Understanding of storage concepts (block, file, object); willingness to learn benchmarking tools
• Nice to have: Redis/RabbitMQ or message queues, Grafana experience, Node.js basics, internship or project experience in performance testing or storage, Prometheus familiarity
