Vice President – Investment Banking, Power & Utilities (Renewables)

About the role

Santander is seeking a Vice President for its Investment Banking division, focused on the Power & Utilities and Renewables sector in New York. The role combines origination, execution, and client relationship management for complex transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Support the origination and lead execution of M&A advisory transactions.
• Manage day‑to‑day deal processes, ensuring milestones and timelines are met.
• Oversee development and quality control of financial models and client materials.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on deal execution matters.
• Identify and cultivate new business opportunities in collaboration with senior bankers.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to Analysts and Associates.
• Travel as required by senior deal team members or clients.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or a related field.
• 4+ years of corporate finance experience as an M&A or coverage banker in the Power & Utilities – Renewables sector.
• Strong client relationship management and negotiation skills.
• Proven transaction execution experience in investment banking.
• Advanced technical and strategic advisory capabilities.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and synthesize large amounts of information.
• Independent project management skills.
