Vice President, International Tax Planning & Compliance

About the role

The Vice President, International Tax Planning & Compliance leads Mastercard's global tax strategy and ensures compliance across jurisdictions. This senior leader partners with finance, legal, treasury, and business teams to drive tax‑efficient structures and manage risk.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute global tax planning strategies aligned with business objectives while managing tax risk.
• Monitor legislative, regulatory and policy changes worldwide and advise senior leadership on OECD initiatives, Pillar Two, digital services taxes and cross‑border rules.
• Structure legal entities, financing arrangements and operating models for tax‑efficient outcomes.
• Oversee U.S. international tax compliance, ensuring timely filing and robust internal controls.
• Lead relationships with external advisors, auditors and tax service providers.
• Drive continuous improvement through technology, automation and process optimization.
• Serve as tax subject‑matter expert for digital asset initiatives, evaluating tax consequences of cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, tokenized assets and digital wallets across multiple jurisdictions.
• Monitor global regulatory developments affecting digital‑asset taxation and advise product, legal, finance and technology teams.

Required profile

• Deep technical expertise in international tax law and compliance.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate tax concepts into business decisions.
• Proven leadership experience in a complex multinational environment.
