About the role
The Vice President, Human Resources is a senior HR leader who will shape and execute Aecon’s talent strategy for its Engineering and Federal business units in the United States. Reporting to senior leadership, this role partners closely with business heads to ensure the workforce, leadership pipeline, and talent capabilities are aligned with project growth, execution demands, and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Act as a strategic business partner to Engineering and Federal groups, advising on talent, workforce planning, and organizational design.
- Develop and implement talent acquisition, succession planning, and leadership development programs that support Aecon’s growth objectives.
- Ensure HR policies and practices comply with U.S. labor laws and industry regulations.
- Lead employee relations initiatives, fostering a culture of safety, inclusion, and high performance.
- Collaborate with corporate HR to align regional priorities with broader company initiatives.
- Provide data‑driven insights on workforce metrics to senior executives.
Required profile
- Extensive senior HR leadership experience, preferably within large construction, infrastructure, or engineering organizations.
- Proven ability to partner with C‑level executives and influence strategic decisions.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. employment legislation and best practices.
- Track record of building high‑performing teams and driving cultural change.
- Strong communication and change‑management skills.
