Vice President, Construction Services

About the role
The Vice President, Construction Services provides strategic vision and executive leadership for all construction activities across the Irvine Company Office Properties portfolio in Orange County. This senior leader oversees tenant improvements, capital upgrades, repositioning projects, and ground‑up development, ensuring elite customer experience and alignment with corporate goals.
Key responsibilities
- Direct and align the Orange County construction team with broader corporate objectives.
- Coach, mentor, and develop Directors, Construction Managers, and Coordinators, establishing robust training frameworks.
- Design and continuously improve cross‑departmental workflows, integrating new technologies for efficiency.
- Balance workloads, address staffing constraints, and maintain peak performance across the team.
- Lead high‑value contract negotiations, master agreements, and change orders with architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Conduct early‑stage constructability reviews, provide ROM pricing, and support financial proforma development and acquisition due diligence.
- Advise executive leadership on market trends, macro buyout strategies, and emerging industry developments.
Required profile
- Minimum 15 years of experience in commercial office construction, project management, or related fields.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to lead large, high‑value construction programs ($200M‑$300M annually).
- Strong collaborative skills to partner with Leasing, Asset Management, Operations, Accounting, Legal, and Planning & Design.
- Valid California driver’s license and continuous vehicle liability insurance as required by state law.
Required skills
- Proficient use of MS Office.
- Experience with Google Workspace (Google Office Suite).
- Advanced knowledge of MS Project.
- LEED Certification (preferred).
