Maintenance Technician – Lake Maggiore
Greystar · St. Petersburg
Job description
About the role
The Maintenance Technician ensures that the physical aspects of the property—including buildings, grounds, amenities and common areas—meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety and functionality. The role involves responding to resident requests, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing vacant units for new occupants.
Key responsibilities
- Complete work orders from resident service requests and conduct preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues and repairing them according to policies, safety standards and code requirements.
- Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, supply procurement, maintenance tasks and final quality checks.
- Maintain inventory of tools, supplies and equipment, tracking usage and notifying the supervisor of re‑order needs.
- Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
- Assist with grounds and common‑area upkeep such as trash removal, pressure‑washing, general cleaning and painting of curbs and signage.
- Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible.
- Participate in safety meetings, complete OSHA training, and report incidents promptly.
- Inspect contractor work to verify quality and compliance with specifications.
Required profile
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, lift up to 25 lb unaided (50 lb with assistance) and work in all weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work a rotating on‑call schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Valid driver’s license for operating a golf cart on the property, when required.
Required skills
- EPA Type I and Type II (or Universal) certification for refrigerant recycling.
- Experience with preventative maintenance and make‑ready processes in residential properties.
- Proficiency in using standard maintenance tools and equipment.
What we offer
- Competitive medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance with low employee‑only costs.
- Generous paid time off (vacation, personal, sick days, holidays) and a 6‑week paid sabbatical after 10 years of service.
- 401(k) plan with up to 6 % company match, housing discounts, parental leave and fertility benefit reimbursement.
