Vice President - Commercial Legal Affairs

About the role

Freshworks is seeking an experienced legal professional to lead its global commercial legal team. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the Vice President will shape legal strategy for AI‑powered SaaS offerings and partner with product, engineering, finance and sales leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all commercial transactions, agreements and related legal risk.
• Lead a team of commercial attorneys in structuring, drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts.
• Provide proactive, solutions‑oriented legal advice to internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations across jurisdictions.
• Design and improve legal operations and processes to support global scale.
• Drive complex customer negotiations and commercial projects to successful completion.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in commercial law, preferably within SaaS or AI‑driven technology companies.
• Strong understanding of AI‑powered SaaS business models and related contractual issues.
• Demonstrated leadership and people‑management skills, with a track record of mentoring global teams.
• Strategic judgment combined with operational excellence.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with cross‑functional leaders and executives.
