Veterinary Technician - Surgery Department

About the role

Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers is looking for a Veterinary Technician for its Surgery Department in Greenville, South Carolina. The role sits within a family-owned, state-of-the-art hospital where you work alongside a boarded surgeon in a fast-paced environment, caring for patients undergoing advanced surgical procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, including preparation, monitoring and recovery of patients
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, administer anesthesia and monitor vital signs throughout surgery
• Keep the surgical suite clean and sterile, and maintain accurate medical records
• Provide proper post-operative care and educate clients on postoperative care and follow-up appointments
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and obtain patient histories

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT or RVT) preferred

Required skills

• Ability to induce anesthesia and intubate patients
• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and sterile procedures
• Experience with anesthesia monitoring and sterilization protocols, including autoclave and gas sterilizers
