Primary Therapist - Adolescent Mental Health

About the role

Adolescent Wellness Academy (AWA) is opening its first North Carolina clinic in Mooresville and is hiring Primary Therapists for the founding clinical team. The clinic offers Joint Commission-accredited PHP and IOP mental health care for teens aged 13-17 and their families. The position is full-time, on-site, Monday to Friday, 11-7 PM, with an opening in January 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual, family and group therapy for adolescents.
• Complete assessments, diagnoses and individualized treatment plans.
• Support teens dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma and behavioral challenges.
• Engage families and collaborate with a multidisciplinary clinical team.
• Support crisis intervention, safety planning and discharge coordination.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
• Help shape the new clinic's culture, programs and clinical experience.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy.
• Active NC LCMHCA, LCMHC, LCSWA, LCSW, LMFTA or LMFT credential.
• 2+ years of adolescent mental health or PHP/IOP experience preferred.
• Availability on-site, Monday to Friday, 12-8 PM.
• Bilingual English/Spanish or Portuguese is a plus, not required.
