Veterinary Technician - Ophthalmology

About the role

A family-owned veterinary hospital is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join its Ophthalmology team in Greenville, South Carolina. The role supports a board-certified Ophthalmologist in caring for pets with eye-related issues.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the board-certified Ophthalmologist in eye examinations, diagnosis of ocular conditions and treatment planning
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Perform diagnostic tests such as tonometry, fluorescein staining, digital imaging and ultrasound
• Monitor anesthetized patients during surgery and help with post-operative care
• Educate pet owners about eye health, treatment plans and medication administration
• Maintain accurate medical records and keep the workplace clean and safe
• Take part in continuing education and stay up to date on veterinary ophthalmology

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT) preferred
• Experience in veterinary ophthalmology is a plus
