About the role

We are seeking a compassionate Veterinarian to join our small‑animal general practice team in Athens, Texas. Whether you are a recent graduate or an experienced clinician, you will work in a collaborative environment that values mentorship and community impact.

Key responsibilities

• Examine and treat companion animals, diagnosing disease or injury.
• Operate diagnostic equipment, collect samples, and interpret results.
• Advise pet owners on preventative care, treatment options, and end‑of‑life decisions.
• Perform surgeries—including spays, neuters, orthopedic and soft‑tissue procedures—and prescribe medications.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and regulations.

Required profile

• DVM or VMD degree from an AVMA‑accredited institution.
• Current state veterinary licensure and eligibility for DEA/BNDD registration.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional demeanor with staff and clients.
• Physical ability to lift patients/equipment up to 25 lb (or heavier with assistance).
