Veterinarian – Faculty Position

About the role

The Tulane National Biomedical Research Center (TNBRC) is seeking a faculty veterinarian to join its Division of Veterinary Medicine. The role supports a large nonhuman primate colony and contributes to a research program focused on infectious disease, gene therapy, biodefense, and more.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general medical and surgical care for breeding and research nonhuman primates.
• Support research projects by offering veterinary expertise and clinical services.
• Train investigators, laboratory animal medicine residents, veterinary students, and technicians.
• Participate in independent or collaborative research initiatives.

Required profile

• Licensed veterinarian qualified to work with nonhuman primates.

Required skills

• Medical care of nonhuman primates.
• Surgical procedures on laboratory animals.
• Animal handling and welfare management.
• Research support and collaboration.
