Vendor Background System Specialist (UMP)

About the role

The Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) Bureau of Property Management is hiring a Vendor Background System Specialist for its Statewide Security Management Administration team. The position is based at 4800 W. Wabash Ave. in Springfield, Illinois, and reviews vendor and contractor background paperwork for accuracy and completeness before entering the information into the CHIRP (Illinois State Police) system.

Key responsibilities

• Review vendor and contractor background paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
• Enter the required information into the CHIRP (Illinois State Police) system.
• Collaborate with Facility Managers so that paperwork is completed correctly.
• Review the monthly ISP statement for accuracy and submit it to the Statewide Security Administrator for final review.

Required profile

• Experience working with background checks and in a security-related field.
• Experience working with computer systems such as Microsoft Office.
• Ability to recommend policy and procedural changes in a professional capacity.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and communication skills.

The position is full time, salaried, and unionized (bargaining unit: Paraprofessional Human Services Employees, AFSCME); collective bargaining provisions apply.
