US Director Medical Affairs – Rheumatology/Dermatology (Remote)

About the role

The US Director Medical Affairs (USDMA) leads medical affairs strategy for rheumatology and dermatology across the United States. This senior, remote position drives scientific excellence, field readiness, and cross‑functional collaboration within MSD’s Research Laboratories and US Medical Affairs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement regional medical affairs strategies aligned with global Value & Implementation goals.
• Lead scientific exchange, company trials, investigator‑sponsored programs, congress planning, and insight generation.
• Collaborate with US Medical Affairs leadership, global TA teams, and cross‑functional partners to integrate local insights into global scientific content.
• Design and deliver training programs, evaluate effectiveness, and ensure consistent field standards.
• Manage advisory boards, expert input events, and patient support programs to support safe utilization of company medicines.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) with recognized expertise in rheumatology or dermatology.
• Minimum 5 years of medical affairs experience and at least 3 years in the therapeutic area.
• Proven strategic decision‑making, project execution, and ability to influence in a matrixed organization.
• Deep knowledge of the US healthcare system, FDA regulations, and OIG compliance.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% for congresses and field activities.
